Job summary

TOTE Group in Tacoma seeks a Lead Yard Worker to load and unload trailers, operate forklifts, and prepare freight for OTW shipments. You will assist the Yard Supervisor and coordinate with dispatch to keep trailers organized and loads secure.

We require 2–3 years of yard operations experience and a high school diploma or GED. You must follow DOT regulations, maintain safety, and document loads accurately. Benefits include base pay, lead pay, and strong retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years yard operations, load-planning and loading experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and off-load trailers, trucks and other vehicles using forklifts and other equipment.
• Prepare freight for OTW shipment and assist Yard Supervisor as needed.
• Operate safely and in compliance with HSSE policies.
• Check load documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Move freight and materials to and from storage, docks and vehicles.
• Ensure trailers are organized and loads are secured per DOT and policy.
• Inspect flatbeds and report maintenance issues; conduct daily forklift inspections.
• Fill in for Yard Supervisor in absences and coordinate with dispatch.
