Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization or Technical Systems Management with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Entry-level or graduating engineering student with internship/leadership experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communications; ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 36-month rotation program to prepare for full-time placement.
  • Exposure to Product and Aftermarket Support divisions (Marketing Engineering, Product Marketing, iMC, Technical Support, Quality Engineering, AI Systems).
  • Relocation to plants or distributors in the US for exposure to critical business areas and vendor recovery.

Job Overview

The individual will be immersed in an intense, highly structured learning environment where the candidate can assimilate to the Komatsu culture and make an important contribution during a targeted thirty-six (36) month rotation program (management has discretion to shorten or lengthen the rotation program).

Key Job Responsibilities

This Development Associate will participate in an enhanced training program that will prepare for the candidate’s full-time placement into one followingcore areas of the business within Komatsu’s

Product and Aftermarket Support Division:

  • Marketing Engineering
  • Product Marketing
  • Intelligent Machine Control (iMC)
  • Product Technical Support
  • Quality Engineering
  • A.I. Artificial intelligence Systems / Development

During the rotation, the candidate may have to relocate to one of our manufacturing plants for a short period of time and/or distributors located within the US in order to gain exposure from the critical areas of our business, with a focus on vendor recovery.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization or Technical Systems Management from an accredited college/university. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.
Experience:Entry Level, recently graduated or graduating engineering student. Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred. Prior internship with a heavy equipment or automotive manufacturer a plus.
Soft Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines and work and thrive in a fast paced environment, ability to handle pressure. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and to drive results. This individual must have an interest in capital goods / heavy equipment (Construction, Forestry and Mining Support Equipment).
PC Skills: CAD experience, preferably ProE/Creo. High proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Pivot Tables, Vlook ups and other reporting tools. Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proven/ completed software development projects a plus.
Travel: This position will require extensive overnight travel and/or possible relocation within our distributor network or manufacturing locations.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $59,400 - $74,200. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
