Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriter to lead evaluation and underwriting for new and renewal business, aligning with guidelines and risk appetite. The role involves developing risk assessment models and coordinating with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain necessary information.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years in underwriting or related fields; professional designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 13+ years of experience in Underwriting or a related field; professional designations are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads the evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Develops and implements advanced risk assessment models for coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Fosters partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather information and provide guidance.
• Procures and analyzes reports to support underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Evaluates complex policy renewals and modifications for enhancements and risk mitigation.
• Communicates underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
