Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Principal Wireless Protocol Architect/Engineer to lead firmware architecture for wireless across PlayStation accessories. You will collaborate with hardware, platform software, audio, and security teams, driving protocol decisions with silicone and ODMs.

Mentor senior engineers and raise the design-review bar across the org. You will craft technical strategy documents for Directors and VPs, influence roadmaps, and help ensure scalable, cross‑platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of embedded firmware experience.
• Experience leading firmware development for shipped products.
• Strong RF/wireless or low-latency embedded systems background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for gaming and consumer electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware architecture and design for transport, wireless protocol, and stacks for embedded devices.
• Develop and define communication protocols to enable peripheral functionality.
• Design and scale low-latency RF/wireless protocols for embedded systems.
• Architect modular firmware frameworks across platforms and product lines.
• Lead and mentor firmware engineers across teams and partners.
• Ensure cross-platform reuse and long-term scalability of firmware designs.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and RF domains.
