Job Overview

RAM Windows & Doors is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Window & Door Service Technician to take charge of technical service operations, including overseeing installations, repairs, and maintenance of windows and doors. This role also includes support duties in both the warehouse and office environments. The Lead Technician will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring high standards of service delivery, and managing logistical and administrative tasks to help streamline operations across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Technician Duties:
    • Team Leadership:
      • Lead and oversee a team of service technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
      • Ensure that all team members are following company protocols, safety guidelines, and delivering top-quality service.
    • Installations & Repairs:
      • Manage and perform complex window and door installations and repairs, ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with windows, doors, and related systems on-site, providing effective solutions for customers.
    • Customer Interaction:
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding technical issues, providing professional advice and explanations.
      • Address any customer concerns promptly and ensure satisfaction with the service provided.
    • Site Assessments:
      • Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of job sites to identify needs for repair, replacement, or upgrades.
      • Provide accurate estimates for materials, labor, and time required for specific jobs.
    • Quality Control:
      • Review completed work for quality and consistency, ensuring all projects are done to company standards.
      • Implement any necessary improvements or adjustments to maintain service excellence.
    • Documentation:
      • Maintain accurate records of jobs completed, service tickets, and materials used.
      • Ensure that all technical documentation is up-to-date and accessible for future reference.
Warehouse Support
  • Receiving Shipments:
    • Verify the contents of incoming shipments against purchase orders and document any discrepancies.
  • Stocking Materials:
    • Organize, label, and store materials in designated warehouse areas for easy access.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Update and maintain inventory records in the system to ensure stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
    • Conduct regular inventory checks and report on stock levels to prevent shortages.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect incoming materials for defects or damage and notify appropriate team members for resolution.
  • Warehouse Duties:
    • Assist with picking, packing, and shipping materials to support smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
    • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and operating at maximum efficiency.
Office Support
  • Managing Communications:
    • Answer phones, respond to emails, and handle general inquiries to ensure smooth communication across the team and with customers.
  • Scheduling & Coordination:
    • Coordinate and manage service appointments, team schedules, and technician assignments to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Office Supplies Management:
    • Monitor and order office supplies to ensure that the team has the necessary materials for daily operations.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with data entry, document management, and other general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Clerical Duties:
    • Help with general office support tasks, including filing, organizing, and assisting with the flow of office operations.
Position Details
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on project needs.
  • Reports to: Operations Manager or Service Supervisor
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel to customer sites for window and door installations and repairs.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in window and door installation and repair.
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a technical or field service role is preferred.
    • Experience with residential and commercial window and door systems is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for a wide variety of window and door systems.
    • Ability to train and mentor less experienced technicians.
    • Familiarity with warehouse inventory management systems and office management software.
    • Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in window and door installations and repairs.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions.
    • Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces.
    • Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Customer Service:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
    • Professionalism and a customer‑first approach to service.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • High attention to detail in both technical and administrative tasks.
    • Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities at once.
  • Driver’s License:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required for travel to client sites.
