Job summary

HKS, Inc. seeks a senior leader to guide whole-building dynamic thermal and energy models across diverse project types. The role blends deep technical expertise with project leadership, mentoring staff, and advancing ESG objectives.

You will oversee energy simulations, life-cycle cost analyses, daylighting and envelope analyses, and collaborate with architects and engineers to inform design decisions and win proposals while upholding the firm's values.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in Architecture or Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional licensure preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in energy modeling and design optimization.
• Familiarity with design and energy modeling applications such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Radiance, DIVA, REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, IES VE, Sefaira, Insight360, EnergyPlus, EnergyPro.
• Experience with LEED submission and regulatory compliance energy modeling.

Responsibilities

• Oversees whole-building energy simulations for various building types and scales.
• Develops energy modeling proposals considering business constraints and opportunities.
• Leads life cycle cost analyses and energy-related design decisions.
• Mentors staff and collaborates with architects, engineers, and operators.
• Advances ESG efforts and supports research and publications.
