Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a senior professional to lead whole-building energy modeling, performance assessments, and environmental design initiatives across diverse project types in Denver. The role focuses on deploying advanced thermal simulations, life cycle cost analyses, daylighting studies, and ESG-aligned design strategies.

The candidate will mentor teams, manage complex data, and contribute to energy policy compliance and industry publications while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainable Design or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional engineering licensure preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience.
• Modeling credentials such as ASHRAE BEMP, BESA, or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with energy modeling tools and design software listed above.
• Experience with LEED submission and regulatory energy modeling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee whole-building dynamic thermal and energy models for diverse building types and scales.
• Develop energy modeling proposals considering business constraints and opportunities.
• Lead detailed engineering analyses to minimize energy use and emissions.
• Manage comfort studies, LCCA, daylight simulations, and solar shading analyses.
• Collaborate with DesignGreen and enterprise leadership to integrate design performance and modeling.
• Provide research leadership on energy efficiency and post-occupancy evaluations.
