Job summary

D.C. Goodman & Sons in Huntingdon, PA seeks an experienced Welder to join the fabrication team. You will perform structural and pipe welding in shop and field settings, reading drawings to ensure precise cuts and fit-up, and support apprentices with technique and safety.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow within a long‑standing mechanical contracting firm serving hospitals, colleges, and industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6+ years of welding experience across structural/commercial fabrication and pipe welding.
• Proficiency in stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), and MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Experience reading structural drawings and fitting/aligning steel.
• Precision fabrication with exact cuts and tight-fit welds.
• Ability to weld in varied conditions (outdoors, overhead, tight spaces).
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and pipe welding using SMAW, TIG, and MIG as required.
• Fabricate steel components in the shop, erect and weld on job sites, assist with installation.
• Read blueprints and drawings to lay out cuts and holes for precise welding.
• Mentor less experienced welders and apprentices on technique and safety.
• Work as part of a team, maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Operate safely and use PPE at all times.
