Job summary

Veolia | Water Tech in Norfolk, VA seeks a Lead Welder to execute MIG, TIG, Arc, and acetylene welding while supervising a welding team. You will fabricate components for water treatment systems, maintain production schedules, and mentor junior welders.

The role requires journey-level welding skills, safety focus, and the ability to work independently within a manufacturing environment. Prior water‑treatment experience is a plus, with strong emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred.
• Experience as a journey-level welder using MIG, TIG, Arc and acetylene welding techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret material specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a welding team to meet production goals and schedules.
• Fabricate and assemble components for water treatment equipment.
• Mentor and onboard new welders and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform calculations for time and material usage and place material orders when needed.
