Job summary

Veolia in Norfolk, VA is seeking a fabrication technician to assist in producing water treatment equipment. You'll operate equipment like drill presses, belt sanders, and forklifts and help assemble piping spools from PVC and metal. You will read engineering drawings, follow quality and EHS standards, and work as part of a team in a fabrication shop.

Safety procedures and housekeeping are required daily. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, optional trade school certs, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent.
• Trade school certificate in a mechanical trade preferred.
• Experience in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC or plumbing recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follows all EHS rules and produces quality work.
• Assembles water treatment equipment from drawings as a team member.
• Interprets complex engineering drawings and adheres to specifications.
• Reads shop orders and bills of materials, fabricates components as directed.
• Operates power tools such as drills, grinders and saws in a fabrication shop.
