Job description

Fabricator / Welder

Typical Duties

• Fabricate ductwork, air distribution accessories, and associated equipment for commercial, industrial, and institutional heating and air conditioning projects.
• Locate, measure, and outline installation areas from construction drawings.
• Drill holes, attach brackets, hangers, and other holding devices.
• Fabricate complex fittings and ductwork.
• Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and distribution of materials and parts.
• Set equipment such as coils, fans, and humidifiers.
• Operate equipment such as shears, press brakes, sheet rollers, hem saws, plasma cutters, grinders, etc.
• Work overtime as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to weld to qualified procedures using GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG).
• Minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Weld test on stainless, carbon, galvanized, and aluminum will be required at interview.
• Proficiency with hand tools, man lifts, platform lifts, forklifts, rigging, and erection equipment.
• Ability to do material take-offs and cut lists.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
