Job summary

Columbia Energy & Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Welder III for our Richland, WA facility. This senior welding role requires reading complex blueprints, selecting WPS, and welding to ASME and AWS standards with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of welding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality records and effective collaboration with QA/QC and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) or more years of welding experience or an Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology or equivalent.
• Ability to pass multiple Columbia Energy welding qualification tests.
• Extensive working knowledge of welding materials, processes, and procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal instructions and written technical documentation.
• Ability to perform shop math including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on critical and support equipment per qualified WPS.
• Weld structures per project travelers, drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Read and follow WPS requirements, welding symbols, and fabrication documentation.
• Apply knowledge of AWS and ASME codes to ensure compliance.
• Fabricate, fit, tack, and weld parts with minimal supervision.
• Determine proper welding sequences to minimize distortion and warpage.
• Interface with QA/QC, engineering, and customer personnel to support inspections.
