Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company in the United States seeks an experienced Welder for the Coil Department to lead safety, quality and continuous improvement at the test tank. You will mentor junior mechanics and elevate team skills through hands-on training, while tracking key metrics and ensuring coil quality for shipments.

You will coordinate with Team Leads, Inspectors and Supply Chain to optimize labor, materials, and workflow, and uphold ISO and 5S standards in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year coil department experience.
• Clear, professional English communication.
• Proactive problem solver and team mentor.
• Flexible with job scheduling and change.
• Working knowledge of BAC equipment construction and welding symbols.
• Skilled with measuring tools and basic math.
• Ability to read assembly/fabrication drawings and BOM.
• Proficient in oxy-fuel and plasma arc welding.
• Certified to operate overhead cranes and jib booms safely.
• Lean/Continuous Improvement mindset with ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safety leadership: enforce PPE and rules; model safe behavior.
• Coil testing and repair at test tank; finalize to next station.
• Mentor junior mechanics; deliver hands-on training.
• Maintain coil proficiency log; track leak rates and notes.
• Review daily schedule to align labor, materials, workflow.
• Act as Lean champion to remove waste and standardize improvments.
• Maintain ISO records; uphold 5S practices daily.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Inspectors and Supply Chain.
