Job summary

Job description

Position Overview

We are recruiting for a high‑volume metal fabrication facility for multi‑skilled welders with prior experience. MIG welding on steel/aluminum is required, and TIG experience is needed. The candidate will be responsible for weld preparation, welding, and finishing on various gauges of metal according to mechanical drawings, specifications, or other instructions.

Schedule

1st shift: 5:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Thursday. OT on Friday from 5:30am – 10:30am, if approved by the Supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Interpret drawings and specifications, including weld requirement symbology.
• Perform light and heavy arc and gas welding on items such as frames, racks, metal casings, trucks, skids, low‑pressure tanks, welding and brazing of dies using welding machines and acetylene welding equipment.
• Perform grinding operations using manual and power tools.
• Maintain welding equipment through regular maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to understand drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge and experience working with various welding and finishing equipment.
• Ability to work with a wide range of gauges of metal.
• Work in cooperation with other welders and team members.

Leadership Qualities

• Communicate with the team and Plant Manager.
• Filter questions and issues within the team.
• Work with students in the Co‑Op Program.
• Check parts/jobs to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Job Type: Full‑time.
• Experience: 10+ years (preferred); 2–5 years (preferred).
• Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience).
