Job summary

C & H Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Welder to oversee welding operations, mentor the welding team, and support fabrication on custom industrial projects. You will read detailed blueprints, plan processes, and weld using MIG, TIG, and STICK methods while safely operating a plasma table and related tools.

The role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to work independently or in a two-person team, and collaboration with CAD designers on custom designs.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and fabrication drawings to plan processes, job flow, and accurately weld, produce and assemble components.
• Safely and efficiently perform MIG, TIG, and STICK welding, as well as oxygen and plasma cutting.
• Assist welders and prep job sites to ensure smooth fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and fabrication drawings to plan processes, job flow, and accurately weld, produce and assemble components
• Safely and efficiently perform MIG, TIG, and STICK welding, as well as oxygen and plasma cutting
• Prepare job sites and work areas for welding and fabrication, and assist welders as needed
• Safely operate a plasma table to produce required components
• Safely operate hand and power tools, including grinders, handsaws, mag drills and hand presses
• Demonstrate resourcefulness and problem solving on welding projects
• Work with CAD designer to create custom designs
• Assist with R&D projects
• Train employees on welding and cutting on different materials
• Assist with job walks and estimates
• Dispatch welding crew to meet deadlines
• Recruit for weld department
• Maintain a clean and safe shop and organize materials
• Monitor inventory of welding supplies and parts

• Design and implement weld tests
• Train employees on welding and cutting on different materials to ensure the team is educated and capable
• Assist the Welding Manager with job walks and estimates
• Prioritize multiple projects and manage tasks to completion
• Dispatch the welding crew daily to meet customer and company deadlines
• Assist with recruiting for the weld department
• Safely operate a forklift to load, unload and organize materials at the shop
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, welding, and parts area
• Monitor and maintain inventory of welding supplies, materials, and parts
