Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Shift Lead for Weld Fabrication on the Lunar Lander program at Space Coast, Florida. You will oversee orbital tube welding, VPPA welding, and manual weld operations, leading technicians to meet safety, quality, and schedule targets in a high-rate aerospace environment.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain, and drive continuous improvement while upholding rigorous safety standards and production discipline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or technical degree preferred
• 5+ years in OTW, VPPA, Manual weld, aerospace structures, or similar field
• 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience in a production environment
• Experience welding on various substrates
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily weld operations for Lunar Lander program
• Assign and coordinate technician work activities to meet production schedules
• Ensure adherence to engineering specs, work instructions, and quality standards
• Monitor and drive performance across cost, quality, and schedule
• Serve as primary contact for shift-level production issues and escalation
• Promote a strong safety culture and compliance with procedures
• Support first article builds, process validation, and continuous improvement
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow
• Track labor hours, material usage, and productivity for cost efficiency
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to technicians
• Maintain accurate production records and shift reports
