Job summary

ABC7 Los Angeles seeks a certified Meteorologist to forecast and communicate weather across studio and field. The role emphasizes public safety, storytelling, and using AR/VR graphics to elevate weather coverage.

You will work with the weather team across platforms, anchor and report in multiple markets as needed, and bring innovative visuals using Premiere, Dalet, and WSI tools. Must be adaptable, with weekend/holiday flexibility.

Qualifications

• Certified Meteorologist with the ability to forecast and interpret weather data.
• Experience storytelling and communicating weather on-air and online.
• Ability to produce engaging weather graphics and AR/VR elements.

Responsibilities

• Exceptional knowledge of the weather and how to communicate it across multiple platforms.
• Strong reporting, writing and interviewing skills.
• Tell high-impact weather stories in breaking coverage from studio and field.
• Collaborate with weather team, producers and managers before, during, and after newscasts.
• Active in using social media for promotion and news gathering.
• Represent the station at community events.
