Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Weapons Systems Test Engineer to lead test planning and execution for advanced strike weapon systems, providing systems engineering input through development and verification. The role involves rapid prototyping, field testing, coordination with sponsors and labs, and delivering formal reports.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 3+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain required clearances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of systems test engineering experience in development and test & evaluation of complex systems.
  • Ability to obtain SAP level access and Interim Secret clearance; ultimately Top Secret/SCI.
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% to sponsor, contractor and test sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of tests for advanced strike weapon systems.
  • Provide test strategy, design, and reporting for evaluation of weapon systems.
  • Coordinate test resources and schedules with sponsors, facilities and stakeholders.
  • Deliver formal presentations and reports to codify technical recommendations and solutions.
