Job summary

The City of Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management seeks a Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker II (OLIO) to perform semi-skilled construction and maintenance for the wastewater and water distribution systems in Atlanta, GA.

You will lead a crew, operate dump trucks, backhoes, and skid loaders, inspect equipment, document inspections, enforce safety and traffic controls, and collaborate with skilled trades to restore infrastructure such as curbs, sidewalks, paving, and landscaping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant construction/wastewater experience preferred.
• Ability to operate light-heavy equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Strong reporting, inspection, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, backhoes, skid loaders as part of a crew.
• Draft inspection reports and maintenance recommendations.
• Ensure safety and traffic control at work sites.
• Lead a crew during restoration work (curbing, sidewalk, paving, landscaping).
• Perform pre-trip inspections and refueling of equipment.
• Assist supervisors and train junior staff as needed.
• Attend safety trainings and stay updated on regulations.
• Assist in removing hazardous materials from catch basins when required.
• May substitute for supervisors and support department goals.
