Job summary

The City of Atlanta's Watershed Management Department is seeking a Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled construction and maintenance for wastewater and water systems. The role leads crews, operates heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, and skid loaders, and may substitute for supervisors as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience and a CDL Class B license (or 3–4 years of related construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years in construction, wastewater collection, or water distribution; CDL Class B preferred.
• Or 3–4 years of construction experience in related systems; strong knowledge of safety procedures.
• Water or Wastewater licenses are preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, backhoes, skid loaders) and perform related maintenance tasks.
• Respond to Watershed Dispatch calls for sewer spills, odor complaints, and other issues; assist crews.
• Lead or assist crew in absence of supervisor and coordinate with other teams.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure safety compliance on equipment and job sites.
