Job summary

Poppy Bank? No. Santa Ana Pueblo is seeking a Lead Utility Operator to maintain tribal water and wastewater systems. Under supervision, you will perform skilled tasks, oversee operators, and ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

You will analyze system conditions, aid in capital projects, and produce reports. The role requires Level IV certification and a valid NM driver’s license, with on-site duties and potential on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years utility maintenance experience.
• Level IV Certification in Water and/or Wastewater Operations is required.
• Must pass background, fingerprint, and drug/alcohol screen including a motor vehicle check.
• Must have valid New Mexico driver’s license and Pueblo insurance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze water and wastewater systems for compliance with regulations.
• Oversee and evaluate work of Utility Operators.
• Perform daily operations and maintenance of tribal utility assets.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and maintenance of equipment.
• Review and provide input on Capital Improvement Projects.
• Update water/wastewater reports and records to confirm treatment needs.
• Maintain inventory of treatment chemicals for compliance.
• Foresee equipment and material needs for daily operations.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, and regulators to ensure proper service.
