Job summary

The Texas Department Of Criminal Justice is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee general maintenance, construction, water, and wastewater operations. Responsibilities include estimating labor hours and materials, submitting requisitions, training inmate workers, and maintaining security and records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years paid experience in certified water or wastewater operations; or an associate degree in engineering or a related environmental technology field; or completed a related environmental program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required TCEQ licenses.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in general maintenance, construction, water, and wastewater operations.
• Schedules and assigns work to maintenance staff and inmate workers.
• Inspects completed work for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates assignments with other supervisors to ensure efficient use of staff, materials, and equipment.
• Estimates labor hours, materials, supplies, and resources needed for projects.
• Submits requisitions and maintains records and reports of repairs.
• Trains and supervises inmate maintenance and construction workers.
• Maintains the security and accountability of assigned inmates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
