Job summary

HR Green, Inc. in Melbourne, FL is seeking a motivated Lead Engineer to join our Water and Wastewater Practice. This role leads municipal water and wastewater projects from planning through construction, mentors junior engineers, and acts as project manager on diverse assignments.

You will design, review, and supervise hydraulic analyses, pumping stations, and treatment facilities while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality deliverables for our clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in one or more states or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 10 years of water and wastewater system design experience.
• Ability to develop construction documents and lead projects through all phases.
• Proficient in engineering software, modeling tools, and technical equipment.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills; capable of client interaction.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs water supply, wastewater treatment, and distribution design tasks.
• Supports or leads Project Manager duties on municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Leads technical reviews of drawings, specs, and hydraulic modeling reports.
• Makes design decisions aligned with regulatory requirements for drinking water and wastewater.
• Oversees contractor coordination, bidding support, and contract documents.
