1-800 WATER DAMAGE of South Side Chicago is seeking a Lead Water Damage Remediation Technician to guide a field crew in Alsip, IL. You will lead assessments, extraction, and drying on residential and commercial properties, while mentoring junior techs and maintaining high safety standards.

You will operate and monitor drying equipment, document progress with photos and readings, and communicate with homeowners and adjusters to ensure smooth remediation.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in water damage remediation or restoration.
• IICRC WRT certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience operating commercial drying and extraction equipment.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor a field crew.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call emergencies.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform water damage assessment, extraction, and structural drying on properties.
• Operate and monitor drying equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters.
• Document job progress with photos, moisture readings, and detailed field notes.
• Communicate with property owners and insurance adjusters throughout remediation.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians on remediation techniques and safety protocols.
• Perform mold remediation and containment procedures as needed.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with IICRC standards and company guidelines.
