Job summary

City of Boulder, CO, seeks a Water Resources Senior Engineer to lead analyses, conservation programs, and irrigation ditch matters, aligning with city goals and values. This role sits within the Utilities supervisor team to deliver trusted, effective service.

You will supervise staff, develop work plans, coordinate water supply planning, drought response, and engage with the public and city departments. A strong background in water resources and engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or physical science.
• Four (4) years of demonstrated experience in water rights analyses, water demand analyses or water supply planning.
• One (1) year supervisory or lead project manager or project engineer experience.
• Colorado Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within two (2) years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises water resources and water conservation staff to build a high-trust team.
• Leads water rights and water resources analyses to support planning and water rights protection.
• Manages drought decision process and coordinates drought plan implementation.
• Oversees water supply model development and related analyses.
