City of Duluth is seeking a Senior Engineer to oversee the design and construction of water distribution capital improvement projects and related piping replacements over the next decade.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff engineers, regulators, consultants, contractors, and residents, with a focus on planning, coordinating, and integrating utility needs with transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 4 years of engineering experience as Engineer‑In‑Training.
• Eight years of full‑time work experience as a licensed Professional Engineer with at least two years supervising complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete design and preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Provide engineering analysis in support of project development and delivery.
• Lead capital improvement projects and prepares necessary reports, presentations, and communications.
• Contract administration for construction improvement projects.
• Plan, attend and speak at public hearings and meetings.
• Monitor work sites to ensure compliance with proper methods, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
