Job summary

The City of Yuma is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III to oversee and perform advanced operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant. The role supervises Apprentice I and II, ensures compliance with ADEQ and City policies, and responds to incidents as Onsite Operator.

Ideal candidates have a Grade III WW certification, a high school diploma or GED, at least three years in complex wastewater facilities, and strong skills in SCADA monitoring, chemical handling, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years in advanced wastewater facilities.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License and Grade III WW certification or reciprocal within 60 days.
• Experience with plant operations and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant equipment and processes during shifts.
• Monitor compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Inspect equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Lead and coordinate lower-level operators.
• Maintain logs and data records.
