Job summary

PerfectVision in Middletown, PA is seeking a Logistics Warehouseman to support shipping and receiving in our steel distribution operation. You will work in the distribution center, packing, labeling, and scanning outgoing shipments, with attention to accuracy and efficiency.

Candidates with general warehouse or order picking experience are welcome; we value a strong work ethic and flexibility. Must regularly lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required or preferred.
• Warehouse experience including picking, packing and receiving is preferred but not required.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally over 100 pounds.
• Primary language is English and basic computer literacy is expected.
• Must wear PPE (gloves, steel-toe boots) as required.

Responsibilities

• Read orders to determine items to move, gather, or ship.
• Assist in shipping/receiving; verify items against packing lists and purchase orders.
• Operate forklift and/or pallet jack to move materials.
• Move materials between receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
• Pack, label, and ship products; apply barcodes.
• Assist cycle counts and keep the warehouse clean and organized.
• Bundle steel components and accessories as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

PerfectVision is searching for a Logistics Warehouseman to help us with our shipping and receiving operations for our steel distribution business. In this position, you will work in our distribution center, packing, labeling, and scanning outgoing shipments. Our ideal applicant has general warehouse or order picking experience. However, we will work with any applicants that have a strong work ethic and flexibility needed for this position.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Reads customer order, work order, or shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed or shipped.
• Assist in shipping and receiving (as needed) unloading trucks, checking in merchandise using receiving documents, matches and reviews purchase orders to packing lists to ensure all required items are included; documents information relating to receipt, storage or distribution of materials for processing.
• Operate forklift and/or manual pallet jack for moving or storing material.
• Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, color, or product item number.
• Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
• Packs, crates, and ships product and material to distribution center, departments, and vendors. Includes shrink wrapping, boxing and labeling. Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method; i.e. Barcodes
• Assist in cycle counts of physical inventory. Keeps warehouse and work area organized at all times.
• Bundling pipe, angle, and other associated steel components and accessories.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience

• Previous warehouse experience including picking, packing and receiving is preferred but not required.

Computer Skills

• Computer literate in a Microsoft Windows environment. Preferably previous experience and/or training with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; computerized shipping/tracking programs such as FedEx and UPS Online.

Other Requirements

• Must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred (100) pounds.
• Primary language used to perform this job is English.
