Job summary

Trane Technologies in the United States is seeking a Warehouse Associate to perform receipt, staging, storage, and delivery of HVAC equipment and to serve as the primary contact for warehousing, customer service, and local transportation issues.

You will operate material handling equipment, log inbound freight, coordinate with freight carriers, and ensure safety and accuracy of inventory records while supporting internal customers with timely material delivery.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year warehouse experience.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform tasks related to receipt, staging, storage, transfer, and delivery of HVAC equipment.
  • Primary contact for warehousing, customer service, and local transportation issues.
  • Using material handling equipment, inbound and outbound shipments, loads and unloads trucks, locates and picks material into/out of warehouse racks and between locations.
  • Log inbound freight with freight carriers.
  • Work with local and regional freight companies (setup times, hot shots, etc.).
  • Safely operate assigned material handling equipment.
  • Ensures that all equipment in use has been inspected and is in safe operating condition.
  • Reports all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory
  • Determines accurate material quantities by cycle counting.
  • Receives material into inventory, move material by quantity between designated locations, and locate/pick material to/from warehouse locations as required.
  • Ensures accurate part number, quantity, and other data fields entries that impact electronic records of receipts, inventories, location;
  • Resolves discrepancies with material quantities, part numbers;
  • Locates parts ensuring pallets are stable, etc.
  • Satisfies demands of internal customers to include timely delivery of designated materials.
  • Delivers high priority materials ahead of routine materials.
  • Practices safe material handling techniques.
  • Completes training as required, including safety training, certification and testing.
  • Reinforces culture of safety by utilizing all appropriate resources to safely perform all functions of the job.
  • Assists with training and on-boarding of warehouse associates
  • Performs housekeeping as assigned
  • May be required to purchase warehouse supplies to maintain building
  • Assist in annual warehouse inventory
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Flexibility to work on-call shifts, as required.

What will you do?

  • Ensures that all equipment in use has been inspected and is in safe operating condition.
  • Reports all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory
  • Determines accurate material quantities by cycle counting
  • Receives material into inventory, move material by quantity between designated locations, and locate/pick material to/from warehouse locations as required.
  • Ensures accurate part number, quantity, and other data fields entries that impact electronic records of receipts, inventories, location;

  • Locates parts insuring that pallets are stable, observing pallet heights, material, racking and equipment are not damaged, and material is not left in aisles.
  • Satisfies demands of internal customers to include the timely delivery or removal of designated materials to or from the supported shop.
  • Delivers high priority materials ahead of routine materials previously requested.
  • Practices safe material handling techniques.
  • Completes training as required, including safety training, certification and testing.
  • Reinforces culture of safety by utilizing all appropriate resources to safely perform all functions of the job.
  • Assists with the training and on-boarding of warehouse associates
  • Performs housekeeping as assigned
  • May be required to purchase warehouse supplies to maintain building
  • Assist in annual warehouse inventory
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Flexibility to work on-call shifts, as required.
Work environment and conditions

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position works in a typical warehouse environment. You occasionally will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and fumes from forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

What you will bring?
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous Material Handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must have a strong instinct to act, a strong team player and be able to maintain a high energy level even with challenging situations or internal/external customers.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to take care of problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to follow through on commitments and responsibilities.
  • A strong knowledge and comfort level with computers is necessary.
  • Programs used include Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical and ergonomic requirements

While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to stand 8-12 hours, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and effectively communicate with others - talk and hear. You will frequently be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw. You will occasionally be required to sit. This position regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Any lifting above 50 pounds should be done mechanically. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary and compensation
