Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor to oversee warehouse and delivery staff serving the Salt Lake County Jail. This role manages inventory, storage, ordering, and distribution of supplies, ensuring compliance with safety and security policies.

Candidates must have 3 years of warehouse experience (1 year supervisory) and a valid Utah driver’s license. Background checks and drug testing are required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related warehouse experience, of which one (1) year must have been supervisory or administrative; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license accepted by the State of Utah.

Responsibilities

• Supervises warehouse and delivery staff for the Jail, including hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work.
• Ensures that supplies are received, stored, and distributed to the Jail.
• Audits materials received against purchase orders to verify pricing and specifications.
• Operates and trains staff on forklift, pallet jacks, tugs, trucks, pallet stackers or other light equipment used to move materials.
• Maintains OSHA certifications for warehouse equipment and enforces safety procedures.
• Supervises meal delivery to prisoner pods and destruction of confidential documents.
• Solicits and evaluates vendors for quality and efficiency; makes purchasing recommendations.
