Job summary

Smithfield Foods in North Carolina is hiring a warehouse worker to operate electric forklifts, prepare shipments, and manage incoming materials in a fast-paced meat processing environment.

Responsibilities include training and leading within your area, creating shipment records, inspecting trailers, taking temperature readings, and maintaining food safety standards in accordance with USDA/SQF guidelines. Must be able to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent training.
• Must complete necessary training including Orientation, GMP and HACCP.
• Safety PPE requirements must be met.
• PIT safety procedures training completion required.
• Experience with forklifts and pallet handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive electric forklift to push, pull, lift, and stack products.
• Prepare shipment records and bills of lading for outbound trucks.
• Inspect trailers prior to loading and verify sanitary conditions.
• Take temperature readings and monitor refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow food safety rules.
