Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Lead for our Melrose Park, IL operation. This role leads the team, assigns daily tasks, and ensures safe, efficient handling of goods in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will oversee loading/unloading, material movement, and order assembly while maintaining quality and productivity standards. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and may require forklift certification; strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Credentials: Forklift certification may be required.
• Skills: ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, read and follow basic checklists.
• Characteristics: able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead to distribute work assignments and daily activities to team members. Promote safe work practices. Post the performance numbers for area.
• Oversee loading and unloading of products.
• Manage material organization by moving materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Coordinate receipt, storage and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.
• Comply with legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
• Ensure proper labeling, tagging and packing of goods and materials in assigned area.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets / shelves, move orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Open bales, crates and other containers.
• Assist in receiving cargo by removing from truck by hand or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack or similar manual hand tools.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
