Job summary

Service Metal in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Lead Material Hander to guide a high-performing warehouse team. You will lead, train, and coach others while handling receipts, shipping, and inventory control for metal pipe fittings, valves, and flanges using RF scanners and forklifts.

The role emphasizes leadership, consistent execution, and hands-on supervision on 10-hour shifts. Competitive pay around $24/hr with benefits and performance bonuses; 2nd shift differential available.

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant warehouse experience in a Lead/Senior role.
Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or coach others in an operational environment.
Forklift certified, with train the trainer experience a plus.
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly and work at a steady pace.
Strong understanding of warehouse safety, accuracy, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

Set the standard on the warehouse floor through example, coaching, and accountability.
Train and coach Warehouse Material Handlers on standard processes, product flow, and work instruction guidelines.
Support onboarding and hands-on training for new hires.
Provide real-time feedback and guidance; elevate performance concerns when appropriate.
Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and process discipline.
Ensure warehouse equipment, work areas, and material handling practices are safe, organized, and well-maintained.
