Job summary

Clarity Innovations seeks a Security Researcher to lead complex vulnerability research and reverse engineering efforts. You will explore how systems function, identify security weaknesses, and develop capabilities within customer-authorized research activities.

You will provide technical leadership throughout the lifecycle—from planning to vulnerability discovery, exploitation, and documentation—applying advanced analysis across architectures and environments to deliver actionable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, CS, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; four years of hands-on experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience conducting vulnerability research and reverse engineering, including independently driving complex technical investigations.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers or security researchers.
• Experience using Ghidra, Binary Ninja, IDA, or comparable tools.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, sockets, networking, and kernel behavior.
• Ability to read/write C and work with assembly for ARM, MIPS, and x86-64.
• Understanding of exploitation techniques and related concepts.
• Experience with cybersecurity competitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability research and reverse engineering efforts aligned with customer objectives.
• Define research strategies, assess feasibility, and guide teams through projects.
• Perform static/dynamic analysis using disassemblers, debuggers, emulators, tracers, and fuzzers.
• Identify vulnerabilities and document reproducible findings.
• Develop proof-of-concept exploits and vendor-appropriate exploit capabilities.
• Evaluate exploit mitigations and security mechanisms in authorized research.
• Build tooling and infrastructure to improve vulnerability discovery and reproducibility.
• Communicate progress, risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Mentor researchers and promote rigorous documentation.
• Lead small to medium research teams with quality and objective alignment.
