Job summary

Jobot in Lombard, IL is seeking a highly skilled Principal CNC Machinist/Programmer for a hands-on, shop-floor role on large, complex components (30" diameter). You will set up and operate VTL CNC machines, develop programs (Fusion 360), and ensure parts meet exacting standards in titanium, monel, and aluminum.

The role involves mentoring junior machinists, driving process improvements, and working closely with engineers to meet tight tolerances in a high-value manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a VTL CNC Machinist/Programmer.
• Extensive knowledge of materials such as titanium, monel, stainless, and copper.
• Proven process improvement track record.
• Excellent CAD/CAM programming skills, with Fusion 360.
• Ability to train and mentor junior machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate VTL CNC machines, ensuring parts meet high quality standards.
• Create and modify CNC programs using machining processes and programming languages.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Work with titanium, monel, and aluminum, ensuring safe machining processes.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to boost efficiency.
• Train and mentor junior machinists to develop skills.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with production team, engineers and stakeholders to meet deadlines.
