Job summary

CDW seeks an experienced Principal VMware Cloud Foundation Automation Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize automations on VCF 9.0. This role serves as the technical authority for VCF Automation in our software‑defined data center strategy, driving standardization and automation across compute, storage, and networking management layers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
10+ years IT infrastructure experience with at least 3 years in large enterprise consulting.
14 years IT experience with 10 years in IT infrastructure including enterprise consulting.
7+ years in enterprise virtualization/private cloud architecture.
Hands-on experience with VCF 9.0 and automations in this environment.
Proficiency deploying VCF Automation components such as blueprints, catalogs, Terraform & Ansible integrations, workflows, and orchestrator models.

Responsibilities

Deliver VCF Automation engagements end-to-end from design to deployment.
Design and build automation patterns using Terraform, PowerShell, and Python with third-party integrations (ServiceNow, AD, CI/CD).
Lead customer discovery and road-mapping conversations and frame upfront discovery with clients.
Contribute to automation playbooks, share reusable components and patterns with VCF Ops and other teams.
