Job summary

Trener Robotics is seeking a Vision Systems Engineer in California to own the vision stack of Acteris. You will lead sensor selection, integration, calibration, and perception components for production robotics.

This hands-on role offers high autonomy, end-to-end responsibility for what ships, and collaboration with AI, robotics, and product teams.

The position requires 5–8 years in industrial computer vision and will impact deployment, quality, and tooling.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on industrial computer vision experience in production.
• Experience with 3D/RGB-D sensors and calibration for image quality.
• Strong C++ and Python development, with testing and CI in daily work.
• Ability to plan work, communicate blockers, and report status in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of the vision stack from sensor selection to calibration and perception.
• Build production-grade camera adapters behind a vendor-agnostic interface exposing sensor status and calibration validity.
• Tune sensor parameters and condition images for stable inputs under changing conditions.
• Own intrinsic and extrinsic calibration end to end, with tooling and validation metrics.
