Petco Florida is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician/Assistant to deliver exceptional care to our full-service hospital patients and outstanding service to their owners. You will set the tone with clinical and client-facing teams, guiding daily operations and supporting veterinarians and credentialed technicians.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary experience, leadership abilities, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary practice experience.
• Must demonstrate leadership capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Compassionate, professional, and patient with clients.

• Proficient with telephone and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients, obtain patient weight and vital signs, and record in the EMR.
• Assist doctors with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Handle and dispense medications per veterinarian's directions.
• Monitor and answer phones, schedule appointments, and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during anesthesia.
• Train new staff and maintain hospital cleanliness.
• Oversee hospital operations and supervise paraprofessional staff.
