Job summary

Prince George's County Government seeks a Veterinary Technician (Animal Care Attendant Supervisor) to oversee the ASD Health Program, working with the veterinarian of record to maintain animal health and prepare for surgeries. The position requires supervisory experience, a valid Euthanasia by Injection certification, and a Class C driver’s license, with AVMA-aligned standards.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in an animal care/sheltering environment.
• At least one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of ASD policies and procedures for animal care and health.
• Administers vaccinations, medications and health treatments under the veterinarian of record.
• Provides high-quality surgical support under veterinary direction.
• Stores, tracks and reports medications used in the surgical process.
• Supervises veterinary assistants and ensures Department polices are followed.
