Job summary

MSPCA-Angell Boston seeks a Lead Surgery Technician to guide the Surgery/Anesthesia team, mentor interns and residents, and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates should have 5+ years as a certified veterinary technician, at least 3 years in a surgery specialty, and preferably a VTS in surgery or anesthesia. The role includes on-call duties and rotating weekends, with four 10-hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of certified veterinary technician experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a surgery specialty practice.
• VTS in surgery or anesthesia and analgesia preferred but not required.
• Cover letter showcasing writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and leadership to Surgery/Anesthesia staff, including during emergencies.
• Supervise, support, and coordinate patient care and unit operations.
• Oversee training and progression discussions with supervisors and trainees.
