As Lead Veterinary Assistant, you will oversee medical support workflows, mentor staff, and support veterinarians while maintaining high infection control and client communication standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort with a wide range of animals, including fractious ones.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift: coordinate workflow, assign tasks, ensure staff coverage.
• Mentor and support veterinary technicians and assistants.
• Identify workflow gaps and partner with hospital manager for improvements.
• Support veterinarians in patient care and record-keeping.
• Enhance client experience through scheduling, check-ins, and discharge explanations.
• Maintain hospital standards: cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.
