Job summary

WellHaven Pet Health Hazel Dell is seeking a Principal Doctor to provide comprehensive leadership across the hospital, overseeing veterinary care, client service, and team wellbeing in a fast-paced AAHA-accredited setting.

You will mentor Associate Doctors, supervise anesthesia, surgery, dentistry and medical care, ensure compliance with state practice acts and DEA, and drive hospital growth while upholding WellHaven standards and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent and active veterinary license in state
• USDA accreditation a plus
• DEA license required on hire
• 5+ years practicing as a DVM in a hospital setting
• Experience training associate doctors and staff

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital operations and ensure high patient care and client service
• Lead talent acquisition, training, coaching, mentoring
• Develop annual plans, budgets, and productivity targets
• Ensure compliance with state acts, DEA, OSHA, and ethics
• Manage scheduling to meet client needs and WellHaven guidelines
• Attend and lead staff meetings and provide leadership for doctors
