Job summary

UrgentVet in West Des Moines, IA provides after-hours care for canine and feline patients, avoiding extra emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts cover urgent cases with wound management, GI upset, and euthanasia, in paperless clinics with cloud-based EMR and in-house lab support.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA accredited college.
• Active license in good standing in the state of employment (or eligible to obtain).

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate and engage with the clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the practice and the West Des Moines community.
• Encourage the growth of support staff members through our internal LevelUp training program.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during our open hours.

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the West Des Moines, IA area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts provide care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each clinic is paperless and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of in‑house lab equipment.
