Qualifications

• Lead or senior technician experience strongly preferred.
• Strong surgical and anesthesia skills.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume environment.
• Confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on as a veterinary technician while leading the technician team.
• Help keep patient flow moving efficiently throughout the hospital.
• Coordinate and delegate responsibilities to the technician team.
• Monitor workflow and jump in wherever you are needed.
• Assist with appointments, treatments, surgery, anesthesia, procedures and patient care.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, administer medications and perform other technician duties.
• Monitor anesthesia and surgical patients.
• Perform and oversee proper patient treatments and nursing care.
• Ensure treatment areas, surgical areas and equipment remain clean, stocked and ready.
• Help maintain efficient room turnover and patient flow.
• Ensure medical protocols and hospital procedures are followed.
• Help train, mentor and support veterinary technicians and assistants.
• Communicate effectively with DVMs and the entire hospital team.
• Troubleshoot problems quickly and keep the team moving when the hospital gets busy.
• Help maintain a positive, collaborative and accountable team environment.
