Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Lead Engineering Technician to join the EVDD team, specializing in vehicle instrumentation, test setup, and data acquisition. You will lead a small technician team, coordinate daily assignments, and ensure high-quality test data for vehicle dynamics, braking, and NVH programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Engineering, hands-on testing, and a strong safety mindset. Hybrid work with on-site presence four or more days weekly is required in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.
• Experience with vehicle instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition, and test support.
• Ability to lead while contributing to the work, setting priorities, guiding technicians, and maintaining accountability.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a changing environment.
• Familiarity with Linux, scripting, and engineering workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and subsystem instrumentation, data acquisition system setup, test preparation, troubleshooting, and test support with the technician team.
• Lead daily activities by prioritizing work based on test schedules and program priorities.
• Collaborate with Engineering to understand test objectives, instrumentation requirements, timing, and deliverables.
• Install, configure, validate, troubleshoot, and remove sensors, data loggers, and related test equipment.
• Configure DAQ and verify sensors, channels, and vehicle-network signals for accurate data.
• Prepare vehicles for dynamics, braking, handling, durability, and NVH testing.
• Participate in hands-on test execution, pre-test inspections, and teardown.
• Verify sensor operation and calibration status before testing.
