Job summary

Boulder Vein Center in Boulder, CO seeks a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to perform non-invasive vascular studies in an outpatient setting. The role features a Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call, holidays, or weekends, and requires RVT/RVS certifications and BLS.

You will document findings, enter data into the EHR, and uphold patient privacy while coordinating care with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited vascular or diagnostic medical sonography program.
• RVT or RVS certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations (carotid duplex; venous/arterial duplex of limbs; abdominal aortic/iliac duplex; ABI testing).
• Accurately document preliminary findings for physician interpretation.
• Maintain patient privacy and comfort during procedures.
• Enter exam data and maintain accurate EHR records.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient patient flow and care coordination.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and prepare exam rooms per protocol.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
• Maintain IAC Certification as required.

Lead Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

Job Type: Full-Time (Outpatient Only)

Location: Boulder Vein Center, Boulder, CO

Department: Vascular/Imaging

Reports To: Imaging Supervisor or Medical Director

Boulder Vein Center is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our outpatient team. This role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with no on-call responsibilities, ideal for technologists seeking a balanced work-life schedule. The technologist will perform a full range of non-invasive vascular studies to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to:
  • Carotid duplex
  • Venous and arterial duplex of upper and lower extremities
  • Abdominal aortic and iliac duplex
  • Ankle-brachial index (ABI) testing
• Accurately document preliminary findings for physician interpretation
• Maintain patient privacy and comfort during all procedures
• Enter exam data and maintain accurate records within the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and care coordination
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure exam rooms are clean and fully stocked
• Follow departmental protocols and contribute to quality assurance initiatives
• Uphold all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
• IAC Certification Technical Director

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

• Graduate of an accredited vascular or diagnostic medical sonography program
• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of vascular ultrasound experience preferred
• Outpatient clinical experience a plus
• Familiarity with Athenahealth EHR preferred but not required

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Monday–Friday
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call
• Outpatient clinic setting
• Moderate physical activity, including standing and assisting patients
