Job summary

Ravenna High School is seeking a dedicated coach for the Varsity Girls Soccer team for the upcoming season. This position focuses on athlete development, teamwork, and sportsmanship within a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities include designing practices, teaching soccer fundamentals, preparing for competitions, coordinating team logistics, and communicating with players, parents, and administrators.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at high school or junior high is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of girls soccer fundamentals, strategies and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with student‑athletes, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
• Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends for practices and games during the season.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
• Conduct daily practices and provide instruction on girls soccer fundamentals, techniques, and game rules.
• Prepare the team for competition through effective training and conditioning programs.
• Organize and oversee team meetings, including pre-game and post-game discussions.
• Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align team goals and player development strategies.
• Monitor player performance and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players, coaches, and opponents.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
• Assist in the coordination of team travel and logistics for games and tournaments.
