Job summary

The Varsity Associate Head Coach (Boys) Wrestling at La Follette High School in Madison, WI, will oversee the boys wrestling program and provide instruction to varsity athletes. Essential duties include attending practices and matches, organizing schedules, managing budget and fundraising, and ensuring adherence to WIAA rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional techniques for wrestling.
• Completion of ASEP or ability to complete before second season.
• Currently CPR/AED certified or must obtain within one month of employment.
• Valid teaching license or able to obtain before second season.
• Demonstrated ability to coach wrestling with diverse populations.
• Strong communication with staff, athletes and parents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the La Follette boys wrestling program and coaching staff.
• Develop training plans in collaboration with other coaches.
• Attend and coach all practices and matches.
• Monitor attendance, grades, and meet attendance of team members.
• Enforce team policies and provide feedback on performance and behavior.
• Manage program budget and lead fundraising efforts.
• Coordinate scheduling and off-season conditioning.
• Ensure compliance with WIAA rules and safety standards.
• Plan day-to-day duties with the Wrestling Program Head.
