Job summary

Vector Solutions is seeking a curious designer to own the experience for three public sector products within our central UX team. You’ll talk to customers, participate in discovery sessions, and turn findings into design decisions that product teams can act on.

Our team emphasizes research-first practice; you’ll plan and run studies, prototype in code with AI tools, and contribute to a shared design system.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing digital products, ideally in enterprise or SaaS
• Hands-on UX research experience: planned studies, interviews or usability tests, and decision-making from findings
• A portfolio or case studies showing process and impact of research on design decisions
• Deep curiosity about people and their work; able to join calls, build rapport, ask open questions
• Comfort with ambiguity; frame problems, decide what to learn first, move forward
• Clear communication and storytelling with customers, stakeholders, and technical partners
• Interest in AI-assisted design and willingness to prototype in code; prior coding not required
• Experience working in agile product teams
• Experience with research tools such as Dovetail, UserBrain, User Interviews, or Respondent
• Familiarity with accessibility and designing for scale
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Join customer calls, site conversations, and discovery sessions; ask good questions and follow up on unexpected answers
• Partner with UX researcher on interviews, usability tests, surveys, and concept validation; grow to lead studies
• Synthesize insights and share them so product managers and engineers can act
• Use product analytics and support data alongside interviews to identify user struggles
• Turn research into design solutions from framing to build-ready designs
• Build interactive prototypes in code with AI tools and test with users early
• Contribute to and use the shared design system and UX patterns for consistency
• Collaborate with product managers, owners, and engineers in an agile environment
• Explain design rationale and research findings to stakeholders and partners
• Participate in team critiques and shape how the team works
