Job summary

The Davey Tree Surgery Company is seeking a dynamic utility foreperson/foreman to join our team in Silver City, NM. Your office is outdoors with a new view each day, leading a crew to perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities.

You will mentor staff, ensure safe practices, and manage equipment in a role that offers travel and growth within a large, employee-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in utility line clearance tree trimming.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees safely and skillfully.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Inspect job-sites with planning and proper execution of tasks.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.
